Corollary / Compare / Goodnotes
Corollary vs Goodnotes.
Goodnotes is an all-round digital notebook. Corollary is an iPad app built for people who write mathematics: it turns Apple Pencil handwriting into real, editable LaTeX. Here is where each is better.
Which is better for math?
Choose Goodnotes for an all-round notebook on every platform, with audio recording, PDF annotation and step-by-step solving. Choose Corollary if you write mathematics and want every line in editable LaTeX, a .tex file for Overleaf, and notes that Claude and ChatGPT can read and search.

Can you edit LaTeX in Goodnotes?
Yes, for the math you convert. In Goodnotes you lasso handwritten math and choose Convert, then edit the LaTeX shown at the bottom of the view and copy or share it. Conversion is per selection, and Goodnotes doesn't export a .tex document. In Corollary every line is typeset automatically, and the whole page is one LaTeX document you can export.
Can Claude or ChatGPT read my Goodnotes notes?
Not through Goodnotes' official integration. Goodnotes says its Claude and ChatGPT integration "creates new documents only. It cannot edit or analyze documents already in your Goodnotes library." Corollary's MCP server works the other way round: the AI reads and searches the notebooks you choose, and anything it writes is a suggestion you accept or remove. How Corollary works with AI.
